World Famous Mentalist, The Amazing Kreskin LIVE at the Chesapeake Arts Center!

061412-Kreskin

World famous mentalist, The Amazing Kreskin performs at the Chesapeake Arts Center

Audience will participate in sighting of the ghosts that haunt Brooklyn Park

Kreskin promises to find his hidden check or forfeit his fee!

{Brooklyn Park Maryland.} The world’s most famous mentalist, “The Amazing Kreskin” will be appearing Sunday October 19, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Hammonds Lane Theatre in the Chesapeake Arts Center. The Arts Center is located at 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park Maryland 21225.

With a showman’s flair, a comedian’s wit, and the capacities of a bona fide Mentalist or thought reader, The Amazing Kreskin has, for 5 decades, dramatized the unique facets of the human mind, his own!  His very name has become an integral part of pop culture throughout the world, invoked in comedy clubs, comic strips, print stories, and TV shows.  When Johnny Carson played the character “Carnac the Magnificent” on the “Tonight Show”, he was spoofing the Amazing Kreskin. Kreskin a favorite guest on Johnny’s show and Merv Griffin has also been a regular on Howard Stern, David Letterman, and “Regis & Kathy Lee.” Currently he makes frequent appearances on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and “Mike Huckabee.”.

In 2008, Tom Hanks produced and co-starred with John Malkovich in “The Great Buck Howard” which was fashioned after the Amazing Kreskin’s life. To quote David Letterman, “Kreskin should sue the producers of the TV show, “The Mentalist” for stealing his act. He’s the best mentalist in the world and he’s not acting!” Kreskin can tell people things about themselves that only they or a close friend would know!

For his performance at the Theatre, Amazing Kreskin asks that his check be hidden by the audience somewhere in the theater during the show. He will attempt to find it and if he fails, he will forfeit his fee. Kreskin also offers $1,000,000.00 to anybody that can prove that he employs paid secret assistants or confederates in any phase of his program to help him perform his mentalist “effects.”

The fact that there are rumors, as well as apparent witnesses, experiencing the ghostly presence of spirits in Brooklyn Park, Amazing Kreskin will reawaken that awareness and cause “sightings” of these spirits by audience members on stage. No children under 10 allowed.   Tickets are $25.00 general admission, $23.50 for Military discount and $22.50 for CAC members. They can be purchased at the box office, the theater’s website www.chesapeakearts.org or by calling 410-636-6597. Show time is 4pm and doors open at 3:30pm. A Kreskin video link is at the website for viewing.

Deanna Bogart an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, Performs Live at the Chesapeake Arts Center on September 19th!

deanna bogart

The Chesapeake Arts Center is thrilled to host the concert for an award winning artist, Deanna Bogart on September 19th 2014. The concert will be held in the Hammonds Lane theatre and tickets are available for purchase for $22.50-25.00 online at http://www.Chesapeakearts.org or by calling the Chesapeake Arts Center Box Office at P: 410-636-6597. Discounted Tickets will be available for the Military and CAC members.

When it comes to Deanna Bogart, everyone wants to claim her as their own — her hometown, her fans, her fellow musicians and even her instruments. She’s that good–and that good-natured.

Today, Deanna Bogart is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist musician whose fans value the diversity of her genre-free zone. With Deanna being a multi-instrumentalist, she is able to appeal to her audience in multiple ways. For 21 years, she has been recording and touring on the blues circuit, winning awards as a blues saxophonist, pianist, and singer. She established herself as a blues musician, and almost immediately began branching out into other styles.

Deanna combines the best of boogie-woogie, contemporary blues, country and jazz into a splendid blend she calls “blusion.” Deanna’s fusion of blusion — natural, stylish, fearless and fun — has garnered her three consecutive Blues Music Awards’ Horn Instrumentalist of the Year for 2008, 2009 and 2010 and an endorsement contract with Rico Reeds. She has won, at last count, more than 20 Wammies, the music awards for the hotly contested Washington, D.C. region.

Pianoland, one of Deanna’s most popular albums along with Couldn’t Love You More has been described as some of her best studio work. For the first time, she left her tenor sax at home when she went to the recording studio. The songs cover a lot of ground, including some boogie-woogie and blues, but venturing widely into the kind of pop/jazz material that puts her into the same nameless category Bonnie Raitt has inhabited these past couple decades. It’s thoughtful music, seriously crafted, and completely enjoyable.

“There are many people out there who dip their toes in as many stylistic waters as Bogart tries, but few who can carry their own voice with them no matter what…R&B, pop standards, jazz, boogie-woogie, country – it’s all grist for the mill of Bogart’s personal approach to music. Pianoland is a triumph of individual expression.”
– Steve Pick, About.com

Down Beat pays tribute to Deanna by claiming “…possesses a gift for approaching blues, soul and R&B material with warmth and firmness. Her originals here, in particular the beautifully sung, intelligent ballads, “Blue By Night” and “Tender Days,” sound as fresh as if she’d magically plucked them out of the air. “
