EXHIBITION PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

DEADLINES

Chesapeake Arts Center will be presenting the “En Blanc et Noir” exhibition at Gallery 90 located at the Hopsice of the Chesapeake office located at 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122 from July 7, 2017-September 1, 2017. Proposal is reviewed by the Chesapeake Arts Center’s Gallery Coordinator and must be turned in by Friday, June 23, 2017.

Artwork must be framed by the artist; the only sizes accepted will be 16×20 black wood or metal frame. Artists must also provide wire on the back of the frames and each artwork must have label on the back and wrapped in bubble wrap when dropped off at the center.

Theme of the Exhibit:  Black and White Photography

SIZE OF ARTWORK ALLOWED

16X20. MUST be framed in Black Wood OR Metal Frames only!  Artists frame own artwork with wire on the back.

How many can you submit? Artists can submit up to 5 pieces. Artwork will be selected by the Chesapeake Arts Center’s Gallery Coordinator. Only 25 pieces will be selected for this exhibit.

EACH PROPOSAL MUST BE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

IMAGES OF YOUR WORK

The work should be no more than five years old, no nudity, violence or foul language allowed.

DIGITAL IMAGES: Send 5 images in jpeg format- no larger than 1024 pixels in any direction at 300 dpi for review. All image files are to be titled. Email to Nicole Caracia at Ncaracia@chesapeakearts.org by Friday, June 23, 2017.

IMAGE LIST

A numerical listing including artist’s name, title, dimensions, medium, and file name of each jpeg sent with digital images.

CONDENSED BIO

One or two short paragraphs- A condensed informative statement with your artistic highlights.

CONTACT INFORMATION

Name, address, phone number(s) email address of the artist, and website information.

Only complete proposal package including all the information listed will be reviewed.  If accepted into the art show, all artwork will be due to the Chesapeake Arts Center by Wednesday, July 5, 2017 between office hours of 10:00am-6:00pm.Artwork will go on display at the Hospice of the Chesapeake from Friday, July 7-September 1, 2017.

 The Aloft BWI hotel and The Chesapeake Arts Center is holding a Free Meet the Artist Reception featuring Ty’Cuon Harris on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Aloft BWI Hotel located at 1741 W. Nursery Rd, Linthicum, Maryland, 21090. Ty’Cuon is a student at The Performing and Visual Arts Magnet Program in Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

The Aloft BWI hotel’s main lobby features the art of Ty’Cuon throughout the month of June. During the reception, friends and family will be able to enjoy free appetizers and cash bar from 5:30-7:30pm, while viewing Ty’Cuon Harris’s artwork.

Ty’Cuon Harris is a fine artist born on December 2nd 1997, in Baltimore, MD, and currently an art student in Annapolis, MD. Ty began to officially pursue art in the 5th grade, and has explored a variety of media from traditional charcoal, to clay, and currently focuses on acrylic, oil paint, and ballpoint pen. His subject matter heavily revolves around portraits, and widely recognized faces. Ty believes he was born with a potential for art, which was developed at the Performing and Visual Arts program he attended throughout middle school and so far, up to his junior year in high school. Ty’s growing success in art widely attributed to two key people, Leo Hylan, his art instructor, and Tyra, his mother. Ty plans to use his art, combined with his fascination in airplanes, to pursue a career in Aeronautical design.
