Her Stories: A Women’s Art Show
EXHIBITION PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
The mission of the Women’s Art show is to provide a welcoming place for women artists to show and sell their creations. Supporting local women artists of all experience levels, from first time exhibitors to experiences professionals.
Chesapeake Arts Center will be hosting “Her Stories: A Woman’s Art Show” exhibition at the Hal Gomer Gallery located at 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park, Maryland 21226. Proposal is reviewed by the Chesapeake Arts Center’s Gallery Coordinator and must be turned in by Monday, September 19, 2016.
Artwork must be framed by the artist; the only sizes accepted will be 16×20 Black wood or metal frame. Artist must also provide wire on the back of the frame or canvas.
Theme of the Exhibit: Theme is open. Artwork must be clean, no nudity, violence or foul language allowed.
Photography, Paintings, Ceramics, Sculptures will be accepted.
SIZE OF ARTWORK ALLOWED
16X20 framed or canvas only! MUST be framed in Black Wood OR Metal Frames only! Artists frames own artwork with wire on the back.
How many can you submit? Artists can submit up to 5 pieces.
EACH PROPOSAL MUST BE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Be specific about what work you wish to show at the Chesapeake Arts Center’s ‘Her Stories’: A Women’s Art Show–no longer than one page
IMAGES OF YOUR WORK
The work should be no more than five years old, no nudity, violence or foul language allowed.
DIGITAL IMAGES: Send 5 images in jpeg format- no larger than 1024 pixels in any direction at 300 dpi for review. All image files are to be titled. Email to Nicole Caracia at Ncaracia@chesapeakearts.org by Monday, September 19, 2016.
A numerical listing including artist’s name, title, dimensions, medium, and file name of each jpeg sent with digital images.
One or two short paragraphs- A condensed informative statement with your artistic highlights.
Name, address, phone number(s), email address of the artist, and website information.
Only complete proposal package including all the information listed will be reviewed. If accepted into the art show, all artwork will be due to the Chesapeake Arts Center by Friday, September 30, 2016. Artwork will go on display at the Chesapeake Arts Center’s Hal Gomer Gallery on Monday, October 3 to Friday, October 28, 2016.
The Chesapeake Arts Center will also be holding a “Meet the Artist” reception in the Hal Gomer Gallery on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 6pm-8pm.
