CHESAPEAKE ARTS CENTER MAKERSPACE COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chesapeake Arts Center (CAC) seeks candidates for a MakerSpace Coordinator position. The Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of the new MakerSpace at CAC’s facility in Brooklyn Park, MD. The CAC MakerSpace will integrate STEM and the Arts by providing an environment that supports the development of skill sets that use both conventional and digital machinery, hand and power tools, and computer technology to facilitate both workforce development and artistic initiatives. He or she will provide insight into technology education, and in conjunction with CAC’s Education Director plan for workshops and classes that align with industry standards.  He or she will provide training on a regular basis for MakerSpace users to become qualified to operate machinery and tools, and continue to evaluate and monitor users to ensure a safe workshop area.
