Born from the original music of Daniel Alvarez, Nicole Blickenstaff and Alex Barnett, the music is given life through the work and views of the entire band. Drawing from different infleunces like Bon Iver, Frank Zappa, Ingrid Michaelson. And world music like Samba, Soca, and Jazz they have created an all original sound. Members include: Daniel Alvarez – vocals and rhythm guitar, Nicole Blickenstaff – vocals and keyboard, Alex Barnett – Lead guitar and backing vocals, Kelsey Price – Drums and percussion, Carl Mullins – Bass guitar and backing vocals.

Leo & Cygnus began in early October, 2013. Originally called Daniel & The Lion (Alex Barnett), the rest of the gang joined through the need for more voices and many more sounds. The name Leo & Cygnus was created by lead guitarist and songwriter Alex Barnett. Translated from latin, it means “Lion & Swan.” In 2014 they have had a big year playing at Frozen Harbor Music Festival, Jam at the Dam, and Artscape. They are currently recording an album to be released in early 2015.
