Noted for his classical and jazz performances, Doug is steadfastly committed to producing and performing the music of the 20th Century as well as commissioning new music. His stage experience as a performer and in production is vast, encompassing performances at the leading centers of culture in the northern hemisphere—from dingy jazz clubs and smoky lounges to concert halls and some of the most highly respected theaters in the United States.

As a Music Director, Doug has lead professional, community, and academic companies in productions of opera, operetta, and musical theater (over 100 productions to date). Doug has over 25 years of classroom experience, having taught elementary, middle school, high school (including music magnet and arts schools) and college. In addition to teaching at AACC, Doug is the Director of Choirs and adjunct Professor of Voice at Washington College (Chestertown, MD), the music director at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hydes, Maryland, and the Director of Music for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.

On the other hand, Marty Knepp is most famous for his percussion skills. Being the amazing percussionist he is, Marty spreads his knowledge by teaching at AACC, he teaches classes in a Percussion studio, and also host a Clinic/ Master Class.

Both Doug and Marty have diverse musical backgrounds that account for their seamless blend of classical, jazz and popular music. These two musicians both taught at AACC and did splendid jobs of teaching their students the true meaning of music.

A unique and dynamic musical force- Doug Byerly and Marty Knepp are a must hear!
