Some dads are so easy to shop for: bow tie/baseball tickets/socks. And then there are the other dads who require days devoted to thinking of some clever and unexpected Father’s Day gift ideas. Need some suggestions? We’ve come up with a few fun picks that will show him he’s number one on June 17.

1. A day of playing Golf!

2. Retro Rockets Oldies Concert & Dance

Friday, November 22, 2013 @ 7:30pm

 The Retro-Rockets, named one of Baltimore’s Best Retro bands by WJZ TV, is a 6 member oldies/variety/dance band, specializing in music of the 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.  Playing a unique blend of driving rock and roll songs, smooth ballads, R&B music, classic instrumentals, country, and standards, and featuring strong vocals and tight harmonies,  the Retro-Rockets promises an exciting show for all ages featuring the music  of such past artists as Chuck Berry, Etta James, Roy Orbison, Elvis, the Drifters, Jimmy Buffet, and  Jackie Wilson. There will be plenty of room for dancing and plenty of opportunities to sing along with the kind of music that everybody knows.

3.Woodworking

 Ages 14 – Adult

This course is a beginners to intermediate class in woodworking, with an emphasis on joinery and furniture building. The course will also include demonstrations on the safe and proper use of tools and materials. Students will be able to explore topics they are personally interested in learning.

Class Code: ART 604 (6 Sessions, 6/19 – 8/7 )       

Wed 6:30 – 8:30pm

 CAC Members: $175 | Non Members: $200

4. Wellness Workshop

Ages 12 – Adult

This class focuses on wellness of the mind, spirit, and body. Class time will be devoted to nutrition and nutritional health care, proper breathing and exercise. Topics will address the damage that mental stress does to the body and will present effective measures to counter-act that stress so you can feel strong and healthy. A great combination with yoga!

Class Code: HEA 200  (6 Sessions, 6/26 – 7/31)        

Wed 9:00pm – 10:00am

CAC Members: $60 | Non Members: $85

 

5. Private Guitar

Ages 8 – Adult

ALL SKILL LEVELS. Beginning level students will learn the rudiments of music and guitar playing. Intermediate and advanced lessons will be tailored to the student’s level of ability. Folk style. *Students must have a guitar. Supply fee for books up to $20 based on Instructor’s recommendation.

Class Code: MUS 104 (8 Sessions, 7/22 – 9/16)    

Mondays  1/2 hour times availible between 4 – 8pm
