Musical Theatre Summer Camp is coming to CAC for two weeks, July 15 – 26.

For the seventh consecutive year, the popular Musical Theatre Summer Camp is coming to CAC for two weeks, July 15 – 26.  Enrollment is open to all children ages 6 to 15.  No experience is necessary.

The camp centers on the creation of a full-scale revue of musical numbers from great Broadway shows.  Divided by age into small groups, the children take classes in singing, dancing, acting, costumes and stagecraft, taught by a staff of musical theatre professionals.  Counselors guide each group through the day, giving every child constant attention and personal assistance.

One parent wrote, “Bravo!  We all agree it is the best theatre camp any of our children have ever attended.  Halfway through the camp both girls were asking if they could do the camp next year.  The show was great, and we can’t believe how much the girls learned and accomplished in two weeks.  See you next summer!”

Over two weeks, students learn their songs, rehearse their scenes, make their costumes and build the set.  The emphasis is on having fun, making friends and working together.  On the final day, they present a performance of their show for parents, relatives and friends.

The show takes place on Friday, July 26, at 12:30 p.m. in the Hammonds Lane Theater, 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225, and is free and open to the public.

Musical Artists Theatre is a non-profit organization founded to bring the experience of live musical theater to people of all ages.  Visit to learn more, see photos, watch videos, read about the teachers, and download an application form.  For more information, call 410-837-0971.
